Kaos and other Frontlines based sites seem to be filtering any/all negative feedback being posted in ANY of the forums on frontlineswar.com and Kaos. I can understand the flame threads, but even simple ‘negative feedback’ threads. I made a few reply postings just voicing my hesitation in buying the game until I see the demo to prove that much of the stuff the community voiced through the Beta was in fact fixed, and they are filtering it. I didn’t flame or anything. I was simply stating facts. I just made a reply post 10 minutes ago to frontlineswar.com, and they have removed the entire thread altogether now.

Really sad to see this kind of crap happening with such a potentially awesome game title. I will still see what the demo is like, but I doubt very seriously I will be purchasing a title from a company who has gone Gestapo with their censorship. They used to be very open to the community, but to now start filtering non-flame opinions/feedback people have in order to avoid a negative image to new players is really sad.

Once again, we PC’ers are being made to suffer at the hands of the console. I now wish they had just made the damned game solely for console and saved us the trouble.

SARGE - Weekend Warrior

Weekend Warrior

Listen up soldiers!

A bunch of us would like to get back together on Friday night for some old school Battlefield action… probably after 9pm EST… Hopefully many of you will be able to make it, as we have not all gamed together in quite some time.

We’d like to even do some Special Forces action, for those who have the expansion pack…

So sound off troops! We’d like to bring our group back together for a good time…

Looks like PC users are going to get the shaft on this one…

Kaos|Mitch — “A PC demo? No.”

Pisses me off that we are not going to see a demo for the PC of this, if nothing else to show that the bugs, glitches and issues discussed AT LENGTH in the forums have been FIXED. Here’s another developer that’s basically expecting us to shuck out our cash for a title, and “trust” them in that the issues found in the Beta have truly been resolved.

I for one say “#@%& THAT!”

We have shelled out too much $$$ for half-assed crap that didn’t go anywhere, and was NOTHING like what was to be expected. (thus violating our ‘trust’ that things were fixed) Without proof that the bugs/glitches/issues have truly been resolved, I will not be buying this title, because I know damn well that it will be the same sloppy Beta build that we have been playing since BEFORE CHRISTMAS FFS.

It’s a sad day for gaming when we are back to playing Battlefield2…

Really quite disappointing with all of the new games out to find us back playing Battlefield… disappointing in the sense that game manufacturers/developers have been unable to give us something that rivals BF, even given all of it’s inadequacies and EA’s bullsh@t. Yes.. they have dramatically increased the detail in the new titles, and have integrated some awe-inspiring effects, but at the sacrifice of any type of large-scale, squad/team based play.

bellyflop.jpgAll the time we have spent waiting and building up the hype about these titles, only to have them flop like a 400 lb. behemoth in a shallow kiddie pool.

I just don’t get it. Maybe it’s the fact that the game developers are trying to “shotgun approach” the gaming development process by trying to develop a title that works on the PC AND consoles, and aren’t staying platform-specific with the titles. It sure seems to me like we got a better gaming experience when the games were developed specifically for the PC. More focus was put on the game, instead of nerfing the PC version due to the inadequacies of the consoles.

I can’t believe that developers can’t come up with a game that rivals what battlefield brought us as a group… even given the problems BF has… It’s really sad to hear people already talking once again about going BACK to playing Battlefield, barely a week after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

COD has definitely been a let down on many levels, including both the single player and multiplayer modes. I mean, hell… it only took a total of about 4 hours to go through the entire single player game. What the f@ck? From what I remember, it took days to get through previous Call of Duty SP missions.

But WTF @ multiplayer? Could the maps get any smaller? I dunno… it just felt like stepping backwards in the multiplayer arena… not forward. It’s got the same feel as QuakeWars or UnReal Tournament… a super crammed, superfast, shoot everything in sight fragfest…

Yes… the details are crazy, but at the sacrifice of any type of squad based teamplay… (not that you can even create a squad) I dunno about everyone else, but I am really getting discouraged that any of these new games will be anything close to what we are really wanting/needing – something that we can have great squad based action like we’ve had in BF in the past. (even with its problems) I guess the next worthwhile game to look for will be FrontLines, which I am praying opens the battlefield up, allows squad creation and spawning on your squad, and is generally not just single player online like COD is.

I’ll keep on the lookout Dec. 1st, which has been rumored to be the BETA for Frontlines, and try to get us some keys.
