Great improvement in features over the past bf2:
- spawn on any squad member
- extra customization of kits
- complexe, destructible maps
- games modes that make the action fun
- improved game navigation (clean and intuitive)
At the time of the beta there are naturally some issues:
- minor crashes
- occasional lag and connectivity issues
General BF stuff:
- solid game mechanics (good controls and little issue with weapons and in game interaction, good vehicle response)
- same good ole stuff, with extra graphics and destruction
Personal peaves:
- i need to play hardcore mode, take too many bullets to kill ppl (making explosives just as ineffective, a 203 needs almost a direct hit to kill)
- lack of prone takes a little getting used to, but ill get over it
All in all… I think this game (with hardcore mode) has great potential and im very much looking forward to the full release, hopefully lag and bug free.

I have 2 new 320gb 16mb cache 7200rpm drives arriving today, which I will put in RAID[0], (700gb+ storage) and I will be picking up windows 7 64bit in the next week or so. I am praying that DX10 on Win7 will make this game rock…

Hey Ive been looking round and it seems like there is a free BETA for non pre-orders, but all the mirrors are either full or i have to pay to DL the beta.
Is this for real or is the only PC Beta available now just for pre-orders?

Basically, what Ivan said. To put things in perspective, I’m having more fun with this 1-map beta than I am in COD:MW2. They still need to do some pre-release tweaking, but I think this game is pretty damn solid and has a big fun factor.

I applied for another beta key as well as Jammr, so yes it is an open beta (not just for pre-orders)… I’m not sure how they hand out additional keys but if we get any they will be up for everyone.
About the prone, it takes some getting used to because you really need to look for cover you cant just lay down behind a bump, and the fact that cover can be destroyed makes it harder. That being said, its part of the gameplay and I think it makes it easier to deal with things like snipers and campers, so all in all I think it was a good balance and gameplay decision.
And I am usaully the guy blowing up the cover.

So I DLed the Alien Vs Predator on my roomates Alienware, which he only uses for fucking WoW, and I must say Its awesome, it takes some time to get used to and so far the demo only has 1 Free for All gametype but nothing is more satisfying than sneaking up on a predator from above and tasting fluorescent green brain!
using an Alienware box for WOW? That’s a friggin’ insult to Alienware… WOW’s graphics are WEAK compared to what Tabula Rasa and others are… errrrr… were…
