Well.. I found it useful to notice that the damage is the same on several guns (assault rifles etc) which helps me decide that I should look at the other stats of the gun (accuracy, range, etc) and makes me better understand the effect of silencers and range on a weapon.
All in all, very useful, I know which weapons to continue using and which to switch.
