First thoughts?
F@CKING RIPPIN’!!!
Holy sh@t is the detail SICK! Just plain sick… from the water reflections, to the detail in the terrain, to the details of how your character throws a shadow onto the ground, which accurately represents your motion/stance to the FREAKING SICK details of depth of field. (really noticeable when in iron sights)
I know for a fact that some people’s machines will not be able to handle this game… and for those that do have a capable rig, make absolutely sure you have a good case with proper cooling. This one will definitely crank it to the limit.
I haven’t messed too much with the detail settings to see how much of an impact the extras have, but I’m getting 30-60fps on high settings, and so much as I am getting the detail this game has, I am very happy. FPS should actually be better in multiplayer, as your computer isn’t having to control AI characters.
I DO still have my older rig here, which I would rather sell to a REG than to Vulture the parts on eBay… and it would probably run the game fine… I’ll have to do an install of this demo and run it to be sure.
ASUS A8N32SLI Deluxe
AMD Opteron dual core (1.8ghz OC’d to 2.4ghz)
2gb (4×512) DDR running dual channel
Nvidia 7600GT (256MB?)
Base IDE drive
CDRW Drive
Chenbro(?) case w/120MM fan front/back + side fan
The thing it needs is a good SATA drive, as the IDE in it is one I had laying around, and is only 20MB I think. But SATA drives are cheap these days, and you could even RAID them with this Mobo, which is what I had before and it was solid. The system is 100% running as is, but there just isn’t any hard drive space for games, etc. If someone wanted to buy it, I would be happy to grab a drive from Newegg and get it running 100% SATA and drop the old IDE.
