Just got an email today that there’s a closed beta for FP subscribers. Typical crap, though… “subscribing does not guarantee participation in the beta.” So, I’m not sure it’s worth throwing down $15.95 for 3 months, only to have them b!tchslap me and say “sorry… SUCKER!”

Yes, it’s time for the news you’ve all been waiting for. The endless speculation can now come to an end as we the First Strike Mod Team can finally reveal to you the date on which you the public will be able to get a taste of the First Strike experience with Version 1.0.

And yes, it will be released this month, and yes, this year.

The official release date is Friday the 28th of September.

Mark that date in your datapads people, not long to go now.

THAT’S NEXT FRIDAY!!! FINALLY!!! SOMETHING NEW TO PLAY!!!

Probably won’t find a server with slots to download it for days…

Showdown LAN 2007

Hey guys, this weekend I went to a 500 PC LAN party in Indianapolis, IN…and they are planning to do it again next year. www.showdownlan.com is the site of the guys that hosted it, they had CounterStrike, BF2, Fear, Company of Heroes, Medal of Honor and tons of other servers up and running locally. It cost 40 bucks to save a seat (and it really is easy to register), and you got 2 games just for showing up!!! I got Medal of Honor: Paratroopers (or whatever it’s called) and Company of Heroes. Pretty dang sweet!!! Check out the pics to see me owning up in a Quake 4 tourney, placed 5 out of about 50 guys, sucks, almost walked away with a 7600 GTS, no complaints/excuses tho. They had all sorts of give-aways and SWAG, and all the guys were actua lly pretty awesome. Anybody interested for next year??!?!?!
