If you are looking for at least a little new flavor for BF2, EA has posted a new ‘BETA’ map over on their site: [ LINK ]
Not bad… but a larger map with vehicles, aircraft and campers… large spans of desert, perfect for getting your @ss crushed into the ground by a 2,000lb bomb from a jet while trying to get from one flag to another…

Woot, now, at least we can still have fun playing BF2 while waiting for a release date of Quake Wars

Looks like a Project Reality map! We will see how many servers are running it in a few weeks. I wonder why they released another map? I saw in a forum that 1.41 is the last BF2 patch DICE will release.
There’s already quite a few servers running this 24/7 with pings <150. I was on today after downloading it, and there was about 2 dozen servers… probably more, as I had filters on…
But who knows why. I stopped questioning how EA functions many months ago, and could care less if they stay around. I just know we are anxiously anticipating a few games release dates (ET:QW, Frontlines, etc.) and thought this might keep us occupied so we won’t sit there watching the clock.
And even with a 1..41 patch, it will STILL have the bugs that have been there since the first patch. Same with 2142. I played the other night, and even though they claim the AA is fixed, its not. Neither shoulder fired rockets nor ground AA would lock on and track properly.
Sad….
